Job Description

The AECOM Transportation team is seeking a talented, ambitious Bridge Designer for our Edmonton, AB location supporting the railway bridge group projects.

This is a full-time permanent position to start immediately.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to supporting technicians.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in Structural Engineering

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT)

  • French speaking knowledge would be an asset.

  • Familiar with common structural analysis and design software

  • Co-op or Intern experience

  • Capable of using a spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software

  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, SAP2000, Midas, S-Frame

  • Proficiency in steel and concrete design and analysis

  • Strong attention to detail and quality

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; including an aptitude for technical report writing

  • Forward-thinking and motivated

  • Team oriented

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $55,000.00 - $75,000.00.
