Position Summary Engineers, Radio Frequency (RF) to work as an individual contributor and serve as an electrical engineering technical resource for the engineering design and system performance of our wireless radio networks and systems, including GSM, UMTS, LTE, VoLTE, and 5G NR technologies, and Nokia OEM product line and use of Nokia OSS/NetAct. Job Duties and Responsibilities Rely on radio frequency electrical engineering principals and electromagnetic wave theories to design, develop and test radio frequency wave systems for wireless telecommunications. Responsible for advanced monitoring and review of radio network Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and creating engineering strategies for network improvement, and developing testing and validation plans for Nokia advanced RF features. Review performance trends to maintain existing radio frequency wave spectrum systems [using Nokia Performance reporting tools and One data], signaling and call flows, propose radio frequency parameter changes, understanding alarming, working with cross functional teams, including technicians to triage an issue, assess impact of using different models of RF equipment, including Antennas, Radios, to process large engineering data, identify trends, and execute desired engineering strategy for performance improvement. Apply electrical engineering and Radio Frequency propagation principles, cellular theory, antenna theory, and Radio Frequency engineering tools including Nokia OSS/NetAct, TEMS, True Call, Actix, Asset, and MapInfo, including creating and modifying new or existing RFDS. Develop processes and strategic approaches to problem solving, devise inter- and intra-team processes for system performance, and serve as technical subject matter expert to improve network performance. Monitor, and analyze statistical network performance data, and collect, process, and review drive test data using TEMS, Actix and IMNOS tools. Apply experience analyzing call records and real-time location specific network metrics to troubleshoot specific customer issues using geolocation-based tools including True Call, T-Insights and IMNOS Work with the operations team to troubleshoot site network problems using Nokia OSS-NetAct platform and Call Tracing tools, including True Call and T-insights. Address customer and employee complaints received through PIER incident reporting and #fix applications. Evaluate and enhance network coverage, capacity, and performance through strategic and technical analysis. Define and develop internal processes used for radio network design, capacity planning, and growth strategies, as well as participate with federal, state, and local jurisdictions to ensure regulatory and zoning compliance. Responsible for developing, testing, and validating RF feature plan proposals. Provide engineering support to the sales team and customers. Market POC for assessment of Retail Store Targets and planning/designing new network solutions/site designs to support business development in Small Towns & Rural America. Involved in E911 Provisioning - update RF databases, coordinate with Development, Transport and 911 Provisioning teams to complete E911 Routing before new site integration begins. Serve as electrical engineering expert on GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/LTE/VoLTE/5G and emerging technology theory. Perform analysis of market capacity, small cells [a low-cost radio access point with low radio frequency power output, footprint and range that can be deployed indoors or outdoors] and DAS. Monitor and support KPIs and addressed network faults during large capacity events. Supported large capacity events making coverage and capacity adjustments using performance features using Nokia performance features and parameter's to improve customer experience. Apply experience with Excel macros, XML, and SQL programming and data analytic tools to audit/analyze network configuration data and to develop macros & tools to make efficient processes and improve customer experience. Functional and Technical Skills Requirements Applicant's experience must include: Experience in GSM, UMTS, LTE, VoLTE and 5G NR technologies, as well as Nokia OEM product line and use of Nokia OSS/NetAct. Experience analyzing call records and real-time location specific network metrics to troubleshoot specific customer issues using geolocation-based tools including True Call, and IMNOS. Ability to support large capacity events and take necessary actions from coverage and capacity perspective using Nokia performance features and parameter's to improve customer experience. Minimum Experience and Education Requirements PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, related field or equivalent and 1 year of experience as Engineer, Radio Frequency, Intern or related occupation. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must have Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, related field or its equivalent and 3 years of Engineer, Radio Frequency, Intern or related occupation.
