Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in the Financial Services industry, located in EDGEWOOD, Maryland, United States. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating with various branches and management to resolve issues pertaining to the responsibilities described.

Responsibilities include:

• Timely reconciliation of various general ledger accounts and taking appropriate actions to resolve outstanding balances

• Daily reconciliation of cashier's checks and monitoring for any potential fraud

• Handling daily reconciliations and discrepancies related to travelers' checks and money orders

• Reconciliation and monitoring of visa gift card activity and cash advance activity

• Management of daily issued GAP insurance policies and calculations of income on sales

• Review of employee expense reimbursement requests and ensuring expenses are correctly assigned

• Back-up processing of accounts payable and maintenance of tracking for approvals and invoices

• Preparation and posting of journal entries for mortgage settlement wires and correcting entries as needed

• Understanding Federal Reserve funds transfer regulations and creating outgoing in-house and third party wires within deadlines

• Accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications and maintaining customer credit records

• Monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments.

Relevant skills include Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, General Ledger, Post Journal Entries, Expense Reimbursements, Bank Deposit, Daily Bank Deposits, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Account Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, Cash Reconciliations, and Credit Card Reconciliation. Requirements • Proven experience in the field of financial services, particularly as an Accounting Clerk or similar role

• Proficiency in account reconciliation and financial reconciliation processes

• Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

• Strong data entry skills with an emphasis on accuracy and speed

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software

• Familiarity with general ledger operations and the process of posting journal entries

• Experience in handling expense reimbursements and bank deposits

• Ability to perform daily bank deposits and balance sheet reconciliations

• Proficiency in bank account reconciliations and cash reconciliations

• Experience in credit card reconciliation and daily reconciliation activities

• Strong understanding of financial services industry standards and regulations

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and professional accountability

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is preferred.
