As a Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be empowered, supported, and encouraged to use your actuarial expertise as part of an analytics team performing healthcare economics analyses. You'll also find an actuarial study program to support you in your continuing post-graduate education and certification.

Primary Responsibilities:

Analyze detailed data sets and interpret key drivers of healthcare trends

Conduct studies to evaluate emerging healthcare utilization and cost patterns and identify savings opportunities

Provide management with actuarially informed findings and conclusions

Assist in peer review of analyses completed by actuarial analysts

Mentor and supervise actuarial analysts in the technical aspects of actuarial projects

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2+ Actuarial exams

  • 2+ years of experience working in a corporate environment including experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data

  • Proficiency in MS Excel for building actuarial models and summarized revenue and claims reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in SQL and/or SAS with multidimensional databases

  • Experience working in finance or the healthcare industry

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
