Overview
Shadin, a leading innovator in the aerospace industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team in Eden Prairie, MN. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong engineering experience and a passion for sales, particularly within the aerospace sector. As a key contributor to the sales team, you will be responsible for managing and growing accounts with major aerospace manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Sikorsky, and others, while working closely with our engineering and design teams to drive success.
Key Responsibilities
• Account Management: Manage relationships with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships with major aerospace companies (Boeing, Airbus, Sikorsky, etc.).
• Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategies to generate leads, create proposals, and close sales, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
• Collaboration: Work alongside the engineering and design teams to provide technical support, product expertise, and tailored solutions to meet customer needs.
• Sales Cycle Management: Navigate long sales cycles, maintain a pipeline of opportunities, and close deals within a 12-month period.
• Travel: Attend customer meetings (15%-25% local travel) and international trade shows (mainly Europe, a few times a year), helping to foster relationships and support business development efforts.
• Performance Metrics: Success will be measured by the generation of opportunities, lead conversion, proposal submissions, and achieving sales targets.
Qualifications
• Nice to Have Experience:
5+ years of experience in aerospace sales, with a preference for avionics expertise.
Solid experience in managing sales processes, closing deals, and driving revenue growth within the aerospace industry.
Strong technical and engineering understanding, ideally with experience in engineering, computer science, or a related field. An associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent industry experience (such as pilot certification) is required.
• Technical Aptitude: Proven ability to discuss complex technical concepts with both internal teams (engineering) and customers, providing value-added solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and handle complex, long-term sales cycles.
• Sales Mindset: Deep understanding of sales strategies, techniques, and customer relationship management in a highly technical environment.
• Travel Readiness: Ability to travel both domestically (15%-25%) and occasionally internationally (mainly to Europe).
Nice to Have
• Engineering or technical sales experience, particularly in avionics or related aerospace technologies.
• Pilot certification or familiarity with flight operations and avionics systems.
