POSITION SUMMARY:The IT Support Intern is responsible for providing equipment repair assistance to the Menards’s stores; along with being an integral part of the IT Support team. You will assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and preventative maintenance work on the technical equipment; while also gaining great infrastructure technology experience.
The position requires 15-20 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Repair and configure hardware and peripheral components such as printers, monitors, keyboards, battery backups • Repair and perform maintenance on company owned computers and peripherals • Perform generic and basic tests on connectivity and application launches • Repair and troubleshoot tablets of various models and sizes • Recommend or perform remedial actions to correct problems and documents issues • Enter commands and observe system functions to verify correct system operation • Use an electronic system to document work in progress, completed work and other necessary tracking information; submit information on a timely basis to department management • Follow established company policies regarding safekeeping and security of equipment under repair
Skills/Requirements
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Actively enrolled in a college/university, pursuing Associate or Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Networking, Communications Technology, or equivalent field • Excellent performance interpersonal skills; customer service skills; organizational skills; and verbal and written communication skills • Excellent analytical skills for problem determination and resolution • Ability to remain calm and courteous in demanding situations • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Ability to work independently, as well as with a group • Must work within normal office hours at the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, presently and in the future, without sponsorship
