Talbot County Public Schools Director of Teaching and Learning in Easton, Maryland
QUALIFICATIONS:
Maryland teacher certification with administrative endorsement
Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience
Previous supervisory and/or administrative experience
Knowledge of current research and best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment
Ability to analyze and interpret data for decision-making
Ability to demonstrate leadership aligned with the districts mission and core values while demonstrating integrity and personal accountability for student success
Ability to coach and facilitate professional learning
Exceptional writing, interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
Other qualifications as appropriate for the position
REPORTSTO: Assistant Superintendent, School Leadership and Student Success
JOB GOALS: To provide the instructional and curricular leadership that creates, implements, maintains, and enhances equity, excellence, scholarship, creativity, and achievement for all students
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the effective and efficient implementation of the educational and instructional programs in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Assists in the creation of all reports, records, and other paperwork as required by the Board of Education, the State Department of Education, and the Federal Government
Responsible for the formulation, planning, and implementation of the professional learning and instructional practices for professional staff
Responsible for the planning, preparation, and implementation of Federal grants and seeks, applies, and manages competitive grants
Supervises and evaluates Curriculum Supervisors
Responsible for directing the orientation and induction program for new teachers
Assists in the development of the budget for instructional materials and resources, and provisions for the activities of the district instructional program
Serves on district committees, participates in district activities, and represents the district as warranted or directed by the Assistant Superintendent
Other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Exempt position. Twelve-month year. Schedule,
salary, and work year to be established by the Board and are subject to change.
