Talbot County Government Benefits and Compensation Specialist in Easton, Maryland

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Services, the Benefit and Compensation Specialist supports the total rewards functions of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with administering classification and compensation programs.
  • Proved direct support in processing new hires, terminations, and status changes in the HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment, changes, and communication with employees.
  • Conduct new employee orientations and exit interviews.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and payroll matters.
  • Coordinate employee health fairs and wellness programs.
  • Process pre-hire, new-hire, and termination packages.
  • Enroll/dis-enroll employees via ADP, HRIS, and other online portals.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of payroll and human resource files and records.
  • Maintain an active employee list.
  • Answer the main phone line in the Administrative Services Department
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate degree in a related field, 5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources office, or any combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of ADP and employee benefit management.

Customer service oriented.
