Robert Half Residential Property Accountant in East Windsor, New Jersey

Description

Our client is a growing property management company specializing in residential properties. They are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Property Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with either Yardi or MRI property management software and a strong understanding of financial management within the real estate industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the financial reporting for a portfolio of residential properties, including preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, payments, and collections.

  • Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and other financial accounts related to property management.

  • Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support property performance reviews.

  • Track and record tenant payments, security deposits, and lease agreements.

  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted financial results.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual tax filings, audits, and compliance reports.

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all financial transactions.

  • Collaborate with property managers, leasing agents, and other team members to ensure the efficient operation of properties.

  • Utilize Yardi or MRI software to manage property accounting processes effectively.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in property accounting, preferably within residential real estate.

  • Proficiency in Yardi or MRI property management software is required.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.

  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
