Job Summary:

Caterpillar IT GCIO SD&D are looking for Technical Solution lead to join new Parts Pricing Modernization project team. This position owns accountability for future Parts Pricing strategic system and IT development plans, developing and maintaining technology roadmaps and future application evolution plans following Caterpillar IT standard and best practices.

Within this role, you will lead the development, coding and testing of this future Cloud based strategic application by applying modern technologies, including generative AI. You will provide technical leadership in application development, technical knowledge, and process expertise to solve business challenges and to complete application development on time and on budget. You will leverage a combination of technologies including AWS, Snowflake, Salesforce, ...

This role also requires collaboration with various partners such as product owners, business partners, IT Architects, and development teams. This position manages the completion of its own work assignments and coordinates work with others. Based on past experiences and knowledge, the incumbent normally works independently with minimal management input and review of end results.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive the design, development and deployment of the future Parts Pricing solution focusing on delivering valuable features.

  • Maintain high standards of software quality by establishing best practices and by applying Caterpillar IT best practices (including ISDs).

  • Competent to perform all programming and development assignments without close supervision; normally assigned the more complex aspects of systems work.

  • Sets priorities and establishes a work plan to complete broadly defined assignments and achieve desired results.

  • Responsibilities across functional lines with individuals assigned in new solution development and/or maintenance of existing technical solutions such web application, Cloud, mainframe, …

  • Ability to handle complex aspects of systems work.

  • Supervise incidents management with the possibility to work directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution.

  • Work on complex systems or infrastructure components used by one or more applications or systems.

  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement.

  • Participate in workshops and brainstorming sessions focused on business features and developing new approaches to meet quality goals.

  • Collaborate with our business partners to direct development, debugging, and testing of application software for accuracy, integrity, interoperability, and completeness.

  • Coordinates with IT Architects and development teams to communicate business requirements and to track development.

  • Adapt to diverse business climates.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Software engineering

  • Current or prior experience in the development of large solutions with major business transformation focus.

  • Good Software Development skills: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.

  • Experience with designing or developing software applications for cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Equivalent.

  • Ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

  • Experience developing application using Tomcat and Apache.

  • Experience with one of the next tools : Azure Dev Ops / Project Management / Github

Top candidates will have proven experience in the following:

  • Good Effective Communications skills

  • Agile Scrum Master certification

  • Experience with container technology such as OpenShift Container Platform

  • Utilizing CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps

  • Experience with databases such as Snowflake, MySQL, IBM DB2, …

  • Experience in at least one of the following: massive real-time event, data lakes, Big Data transformations and analytics, cloud data processing, SQL and NoSQL data modeling, generative AI.
