If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join the Peoria Proving Ground (PPG) team within the Earthmoving Division (EMD) as an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist.

This is a critical role at our facility, supporting the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) strategy, while also completing specific EHS assignments in support of PPG facility performance and compliance. As the EHS Specialist for our PPG facility, you will have an exciting opportunity to make a difference for our people – employees, leaders, and the communities within which we operate.

This role as PPG EHS Specialist is a great opportunity also for you to develop deeper knowledge and leadership skills while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role will directly support the site EHS professional and engage at all levels within the business, providing great visibility and making an impact on the health and safety of the people and business.

Specifically, you can expect to:

• Identifies common safety/health/environmental hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protection from those hazards.

• Ensures EHS training is completed to comply with regulatory requirements or in support of facility, division, or enterprise objectives.

• Audits safety/health/environmental programs for compliance with company standards, government regulations, and adequacy relative to local conditions.

• Monitors periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alerts line management to problems and makes recommendations for improvement.

• Conduct environmental impact assessments for new projects.

• Leads projects related to regulatory compliance or improving facility process/procedures.

• Develops comprehensive programs to be utilized at the facility.

The successful candidate must bring:

• Experience :

• 4-year degree or 5+ years of experience in EHS policy compliance

• EHS Policy Compliance :

• Knowledge of policies and the ability to implement them to ensure that activities at PPG are safe for the people and the environment as well as in compliance with legal requirements and standards.

• Remaining in compliance with federal, state, and local compliance requirements.

• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations

• Risk Management: Knowledge of processes, tools, and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.

• Sustainability: Knowledge of sustainability strategy and ability to integrate sustainability into the overall business strategy of the organization. Leads research and general administrative requirements for our sustainability efforts. Contributes to timely and accurate data collection and analysis at the corporate and site level.

• Interpersonal Relationships and Collaborating: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner.

• Problem Solving: Knowledge, and ability to apply, approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems.

• Overcoming Resistance to Change: Understanding and insight into the futility of refusing to accept the inevitable and ability to overcome resistance and adapt to a complex and changing environment.

• Decision Making, Critical Thinking and Risk Management: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
