Healthcare Management Faculty Director

Position Summary

Key responsibilities:

  • Teach 6-12 credit hours (3 -- 6 classes) per year within the program
  • Work with academic unit heads and program director to determine faculty assignments; Identify and recruit instructors to address gaps in teaching
  • Work with academic unit heads and faculty to update course content, promote teaching excellence, and maintain assurance of learning information
  • Work with the program director/fiscal officer to manage the budget
  • Provide guidance and academic/career support to current and prospective students
  • Provide guidance and oversight to the OPM partner on marketing and recruiting efforts
  • Oversee Advisory Board, including identification of Board members, strategic direction and facilitation of Advisory Board meetings, and communicating regularly with the Board on matters relevant to the program and the healthcare profession
  • Participate in conferences to enhance student recruitment efforts and elevate the program's reputation
  • Work effectively with the program director to evaluate prospective student applications, to ensure student success, and to guide overall program success.
  • Provide regular updates to the Dean of the Broad College
  • Develop a strategic plan addressing enrollment targets and partnership development (e.g., with hospitals) in service of increasing enrollment and brand awareness.

``` - Conduct outreach and build a network of healthcare professionals to support the program and its students - Monitor competitor and industry trends; direct the ongoing refinement and innovation of the program's curriculum and coordinate with faculty on best practices-- - Collaborate with the Broad College of Business Executive Education team to establish specialized programs or corporate training initiatives - Participate in relevant university-wide and college-wide initiatives (e.g. Henry Ford Health partnership, collaboration with medical colleges).  - Work collaboratively with Broad/MSU stakeholders and provide regular updates on the program to the Dean

Applicants for the Instructor position must possess a Master's degree in a healthcare-related, business, or other related field. For the Assistant/Associate/Professor roles, a PhD or other terminal degree in healthcare-related, business, or other related field is required.

Candidates should demonstrate significant work experience in healthcare, business, or a related field, along with an extensive network within the healthcare industry, showcasing a robust understanding of industry trends. Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders from various backgrounds is essential. Additionally, candidates should exhibit forward-thinking leadership skills, capable of driving both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic initiatives to ensure the continued success and growth of the program.

Candidates with a terminal degree in a relevant field are preferred. A minimum of 5 years of work experience in healthcare, business, or a related field is highly desirable. Prior experience delivering online courses to adult learners in a professional setting
