Position Summary
The Department of Management at Michigan State University seeks two tenure track faculty (assistant or associate professor) beginning in August 2025. The ideal candidate should be terminally qualified in a relevant area of scholarship and have primary research and teaching expertise in strategic management.
The Department of Management’s Ph.D., M.S. and M.B.A., and B.A. programs are all highly regarded (seehttps://broad.msu.edu/management/).We seek new scholar-teachers who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of our current faculty with expertise in strategic management, organizational behavior, and human resource management.
The Broad College of Business is a highly ranked school that includes five academic departments (Accounting and Information Systems, Finance, Management, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management) and the School of Hospitality Business. The College’s programs are among the best offered by public universities including a number one ranking for the Supply Chain Management program and top five rankings for several online master’s programs. Maintaining an ongoing research program resulting in publications in top-tier management journals is the primary expectation. Research responsibilities include working with doctoral students to develop their capabilities and support their placement in leading research universities.
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in strategic management. Opportunities are also available to teach in other areas of management. Applicants should be capable of teaching and working with students from diverse backgrounds, including international students.
Service supporting the activities of the Management Department and Broad College of Business is also expected.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants for an assistant professor position should be able to demonstrate that they are engaged in activities that will lead toward scholarly prominence through publishing in top-tier management journals. Applicants for appointment as an associate professor must show continued research productivity and achievement of scholarly prominence. All applicants should demonstrate ability as a classroom instructor through summarized peer and/or student evaluations and/or explicit commentary in letters of recommendation.
