Position Summary

Initiate, approve, audit, and reconcile transactions in the MSU Kuali financial system for multiple accounts in support of assigned units and responsibilities for the Business & Financial Services department in Student Life & Engagement; respond to and support business partners accounting needs and operational requests; supervise student and on-call staff; create and analyze financial reports and make recommendations on continuous improvements; support functions in Culinary Services and the Auxiliary Sports Group consisting of Forest Akers Golf Courses, MSU Tennis Facility, Breslin Center, Spartan Spirit Shops, and MSU Recreation Sports. Work is performed in 1855 Place building. Ability to work two days/week remotely after six month satisfactory evaluation; may include infrequent, on-site work during peak business times or MSU home football games.

All positions in SLE are designated as critical status. In the event of a university closure, modification, or suspension of operations due to snow or other emergency condition, persons in this position are expected to make all reasonable attempts to report to work as scheduled for the duration of the closure/ suspension. If a person has an approved remote work agreement to work a portion of their normally scheduled work hours remotely, they may be called upon to work on-site to serve the MSU community.

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Accounting; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in financial statement and report preparation, general ledger accounting and budgeting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Hours

Mon-Friday 8AM-5PM with infrequent evening and weekend work during MSU home football games or other peak business times.
