Full job description
I. BASIC FUNCTION:
The Quality Technician at Standard Bent Glass involves being responsible for incoming inspections, First Article Inspections, assist in-process inspections, and maintaining gage control and calibration. The Quality Technician also assists in document and process creation to improve quality standards.
II. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES or DUTIES:
1. Quality Assurance:
· Responsible for incoming inspections of raw materials, components, or finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
· Responsible for process inspections and tests at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards, industry regulations, and customer specifications.
· Assist in ensuring proper inspection procedures are followed and inspections are conducted accurately and efficiently.
· Responsible for attending and contributing to Daily Gemba meetings.
· Prioritize inspections to facilitate production needs.
2. Defect Identification:
· Initiate NCR and contribute to process as needed.
· Monitor and analyze quality data, prepare reports, and present findings to management, highlighting trends, areas of concern, and improvement opportunities.
3. Calibration and Maintenance:
· Maintain and manage the calibration systems.
· Calibrating and maintaining testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
· Performing routine maintenance tasks on inspection equipment to keep it in good working condition.
4. Process Improvement:
· Collaborating with cross functional teams to identify root causes of quality issues and develop effective solutions using tools such as "5 Why", fishbone, "8-D" etc.
· Assist in the creation and maintenance of quality-related documents, such as inspection reports, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.
· Implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and efficiency.
· Investigate and address non-conformances, quality issues, and customer complaints, working closely with production and other relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Conduct internal audits to assess compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and participate in external audits, as required.
5. Documentation and Compliance:
· Maintaining accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions taken.
· Ensuring compliance with relevant quality management systems, such as ISO 9001.
6. Training and Support:
· Provide training and guidance to others, ensuring their understanding of inspection criteria, techniques, and quality standards.
· Provide support to the production operators and other personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
· Promoting a culture of quality awareness and accountability.
7. Supplier Quality Management:
· Collaborating with Quality department regarding suppliers to establish quality requirements for raw materials or components used in the manufacturing process.
· Collaborate w th Quality department regarding the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction through high-quality products.
III. RELATIONSHIP:
Primary relationship is to report directly to the Director of Quality.

V. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required.
· Quality and technical certifications desired.
· Strong knowledge of quality management systems and quality engineering methodologies, such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, and statistical analysis.
· Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to glass manufacturing.
· Experience in conducting audits, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
· Experience in gage control and calibration processes, including knowledge of measurement equipment such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, etc.
· Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and software.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in Office Software: Familiarity with office productivity tools like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar software for data management, report creation, and presentation

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
