Summary

Supervises and coordinates activities of planning and scheduling team by performing the following duties. Develops, implements, coordinates, and supervises activities associated with production planning, and costing activities.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Oversee production planning and management activities within the organization.

  • Develop production plan, budget and timelines according to production specifications.

  • Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.

  • Plan and oversee the workflow and schedules for production departments.

  • Monitor production status and ensure timely delivery.

  • Identify delays and accordingly adjust schedules to meet deadlines.

  • Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation activities.

  • Notify customers on any delays and outages.

  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Evaluate current production processes and recommend improvements.

  • Assist in new product development and enhancements.

  • Conduct daily meetings to keep track of production schedules.

  • Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications.

  • Determine equipment, materials and manpower required to complete production.

  • Resolve production issues and escalate unresolved issues to management promptly.

  • Assist in employee hiring, training, performance evaluation, retention and termination activities

  • This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience

College degree preferred

2-4 years supervisory experience in manufacturing setting

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages employees in the assigned planning and materials departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit, in conjunction with the Director of Operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving programs.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Due to federal contract obligations, must be a US Person in accordance with ITAR.

Skills

Language Skills

Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence and memos.

Mathematical Skills

Possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Intuitive/ERP software knowledge required

Physical Demands *

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and or arms to pull handles and push buttons and reach objects. Requirements may also include climbing, balancing, stooping, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching or crawling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

$55,000-$85,000/year

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.
