Ecolab Inc Mechanical Engineer in Eagan, Minnesota

Ecolab is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Global Sensors & Equipment (GSE) Group to operate within the Research, Development and Engineering group. In this position, you will work within the Systems Engineering Laboratory Team to support all of the business units of Ecolab, a globally diversified technology/service company, creating a dynamic, challenging, and varied work environment. Challenge yourself to test innovative control and dispensing systems that improve the user experience, safety, and value for our customers. This position will entail a variety of hands-on engineering work with a focus on testing support for new product development and continuation engineering. Testing support will involve following SOPs and creating test methods, in addition to designing and building custom test setups, running tests, data analysis and reporting results. To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate the application of standard mechanical engineering, wiring, plumbing, and other relevant principles, theories, concepts, and techniques; demonstrate initiative and open mindedness to identify and try new and different approaches, specifically for lab and process improvement projects; and contribute to the research and development of differentiated technology, products, processes, and systems. What You Will Do: Test new, innovative dispensing and monitoring equipment systems that meet strategic business needs and protect Ecolab's market leading position. Plan, lead, and execute tests for new product development projects. Contribute to the GSE design review process and required activities through development phases including concept framing, major design work, design refinement, manufacturing readiness, GSE approval and launch. Own qualification test plan creation and documentation. Communicate results and test reports to a broad group of stakeholders and internal customers. Evaluate technologies that may advance the performance and reliability of existing and new products. Support testing needs for continuation and quality engineering projects. Manage and complete lab and process improvement projects. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Experience with individual and team collaboration in a cross-functional product development environment. Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills. No Immigration Sponsorship available for this role Preferred Qualifications: Experience with hands on plumbing, wiring, and assembly tasks. Experience developing test procedures and methods, and execution of tests. Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team while handling multiple tasks or projects. Programming Skills (Examples: PLC, Labview, or Python). Data and Statistical Analysis experience. Experience creating 3D models and running analytical simulations with SolidWorks, or equivalent. Electrical engineering experience. Materials testing experience.
