Ecolab Inc Lead Information Scientist - Systems & Knowledge Management in Eagan, Minnesota

Ecolab Global Knowledge Services is seeking a Lead Information Scientist to engage with RD&E data, assets, and associates, providing simple solutions to information challenges and identifying opportunities to implement industry-leading knowledge management strategies. The candidate will be part of a dynamic team helping to support our internal customers by creating process efficiencies, improving information access and retention, and advising on information management design. What You Will Do: Act as systems administrator for existing and future RD&E centralized software. Identify and execute on opportunities for rollout and ongoing training, process improvements, and system enhancements. Ensure continuous engagement and compliance to keep software and data fresh and accurate. Create and oversee an Informatics Group comprised of RD&E information system SMEs. Advise Informatics Leadership Group on shared needs, duplicated efforts, and opportunities to create efficiencies and generate clean, structured data. Analyze content collection access and usage, conducting ongoing review and continuous improvement to ensure GKS collection fits the evolving needs of RD&E. This includes analyzing metadata tagging, content discoverability, and usage statistics to fully understand our content needs vs. availability. Create and oversee a multi-disciplinary RD&E Content Advisory Committee to ensure that Ecolab is making the best use of our subscription budget: creating efficiencies and driving sales by reducing end-user search time and meeting our researchers where they're at. Partner with GKS Program Leader to manage experiment and chemical data APIs. Manage search vendor relationship including results analysis and patent alerts maintenance to ensure that Ecolab is investing in a search service that consistently meets the needs and expectations of our researchers. Maintain internal news briefs subscriptions, delivering of-the-minute industry content carefully curated to meet the needs of key Ecolab groups and disciplines. Minimum Qualifications: Degree or advanced degree in library and information science, knowledge management, or similar technical discipline or 6+ years' experience in corporate libraries, data / information centers, or knowledge management centers. Experience with information management and process improvement in a fast-moving environment. Experience working with cross-functional teams, successfully balancing competing priorities and requirements from multiple areas. Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into everyday language. Experience managing and leading projects from conception through completion. Initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team while handling multiple tasks or projects. Experience working with Agile development methodologies. Strong experience with information software evaluation, implementation, and management. Experience working with Microsoft Power Suite, including SharePoint, PowerApps, PowerAutomate, and Power BI. Experience working in Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, Microsoft Project, or similar work management software.
