Description

We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for an Accountant I in Eagan, Minnesota. This role is focused on analyzing financial data and preparing financial reports to maintain records of financial activities within an organization. As an Accountant I, your primary responsibility will be to provide accurate and comprehensive financial information to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Examine and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets and prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.

• Use computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as other accounting software to perform tasks efficiently.

• Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.

• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems.

• Apply accounting and mathematical principles to work as needed.

• Analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting.

• Use verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate financial information.

• Utilize critical thinking skills to resolve complex financial issues.

Requirements • Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear and concise reporting

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to manage, organize, and present data effectively

• Knowledgeable in budget processes and procedures to maintain financial stability and growth

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial analysis to support strategic financial decisions

• Understanding of financial and tax regulations to ensure compliance with laws and company policies

• Experience with financial and expense reporting, including preparation of financial statements

• Familiarity with accounting software systems to streamline accounting operations

• Ability to analyze financial statements for accuracy and trends

• Proficient in using computer programs and accounting systems to manage financial data

• Understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts such as cost analysis and liability

• Strong critical thinking skills for effective problem solving and decision making.
