Job Description:

The Engineering Manger will oversee a team of engineers and technicians who are responsible for implementing Spark manufacturing processes, analyzing and optimizing performance for clear aligner manufacturing lines. Engineering Manager will focus on VOC clinical feedback to improve our Spark Clear Aligner quality, support the organization from prototype development through full-scale production, and work with multiple departments such as EBS, Quality Assurance, R&D, Procurement, and Regulatory Affairs to improve existing manufacturing equipment. Additionally, the Engineering Manager will focus on processes to increase throughput, decrease operational costs, and improve quality.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Collaborate with Project manager, Controls/Automation group, and Software group in developing the specification for robust new machines design

Lead improvement and sustaining engineering support for existing production lines

Propose concept and manage implementation of innovative solutions to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing and inspection processes and procedures.

Support and/or perform equipment, process validations and testing to internal procedures

Provide process development engineering support for new product development projects in cooperation with RD&T

Provide analysis and initiate equipment modifications to improve productivity and product quality

Manage cooperation with outside vendors to coordinate the development of manufacturing equipment

Work closely with maintenance department to improve machine reliability/reduce downtime and define equipment maintenance requirements

Assist with procurement

Assist with resolving issues with suppliers

Lead activity with repairing equipment and tooling

Assist with performing process failure mode effects analyses

Work with Operations and outside Vendors to create methods/process to improve capacities with production

Document Cost Savings

Work with management to establish project timeliness, project justification, and budget forecasts

Provide the resources for operational departments for materials, equipment and process upgrades

Pursue and participate in company LEAN initiatives

Responsible for the quality and financial aspects of the company as well as managing the group performance

Job Requirements:

Minimum Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or related discipline from an accredited university

4-6 years experience in process development engineering

Experience in the design and support of equipment and production lines

Experienced in the design and development of fixtures, automation workstations, accounting for work and process flow

Experience with Solid Works or other CAD modeling software is plus

Experience in project management and leadership

Critical Skills/Abilities

Ability to synchronize the team plans with RD&T center schedule

Ability to understand the design & troubleshooting of complex machines and automated production lines.

Effective management skills - must be able to lead the team with good interpersonal and leadership qualities to get assigned tasks completed in a timely manner.

Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.

Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.

Ability to focus on all details and requirements of current medical device product development.

Proficient in MS Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in medical device industry

Eperience in orthodontic industry

Experience and exposure to mainstream manufacturing technologies such as CNC's, 3D prototyping, thermoforming, automation within manufacturing environment
