Description We are recruiting an Intake Specialist to join our team based in Durham, North Carolina. This role is focused on supporting the increased volume of faxes within our Behavioral Health sector. As an Intake Specialist, you are expected to process a variety of requests, inquiries, and transactions, ensure accuracy, and provide support to both internal and external customers. This is a long-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently process requests, inquiries, and transactions via phone, email, fax, and mail.

• Review all requests for accuracy and completeness.

• Provide support and respond to inquiries from both internal and external customers.

• Document all pertinent information related to calls/inquiries and, if necessary, route to the appropriate area for follow-up.

• Gather and analyze data to provide feedback on employee development needs or specific providers requiring education on the prior approval or pre-certification process.

• Determine if authorization is required for certain inquiries.

• Verify member benefits and eligibility and/or provider setup.

• Maintain, update, and manage Service Requests, and research incorrect or missing information.

• Efficiently triage and assign all incoming inquiries to appropriate staff throughout the day.

• Conduct Peer Audits monthly as required.

• Notify members and providers of clinical review outcomes, both verbally and in writing. Requirements • Demonstrable competency in Training and Research.

• Proven experience in Review and Auditing tasks.

• Proficiency in Benefit Functions and Hiring Processes.

• Ability to handle Financial Notes and perform Data Analysis.

• Familiarity with HealthCare.gov and Authorizations.

• Skill in Distributing Faxes and handling Missing Invoices.

• Commitment to Ensure Accuracy of data and information.

• Experience in liaising with Appropriate Personnel as well as External Customers.

• Strong Analytical Skills, experience with A Plus software is a bonus.

• Proficiency in using Fax machines and Triage systems.

• Knowledge of Behavioral Health and Service Request Management.

• Experience in Clinical review is necessary.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• High degree of professionalism and integrity.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
