UNC Health Care Executive Director of Supply Chain Administration and Digitalization in Durham, North Carolina

Summary:

The HCS Executive Director of Supply Chain Administration and Digitalization will lead UNC Health’s supply chain’s core components of Procure to pay (P2P), supply chain finance, distribution and logistics and the supply chain’s digital transformation. The Executive

Director will be responsible for leading the procure to pay (P2P) cycle in collaboration with the accounts payable department, ensuring seamless transactions and cost-effectiveness. The role will serve as the primary liaison between supply chain and system finance. Additionally, the role will partner with UNC Health’s Information Services Division (ISD) to drive supply chain digitalization,

leveraging the adoption of digital technologies, data visualization, and other emerging technologies. The leader will provide business operations, fiscal and people management for designated supply chain areas across the UNC Health system. The HCS Executive Director of Supply Chain Administration and Digitalization interacts with executive and senior leadership, department directors, managers, outside business customers, and internal customers across UNC Health. This position reports to the System Vice President of Supply Chain for UNC Health.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the monitoring and reporting of Supply Chain Administration and Digitalization’s performance including quality and productivity metrics, via key performance indicators, within assigned areas.

  • Partners with Information Systems Department (ISD) to lead the digital transformation of UNC Health’s supply chain. Identifies, implements, and refines digital solutions with our ISD partners, leveraging data analytics, data management, visualization, automation, and other emerging technologies to streamline processes and improve caregiver experiences.

  • Establishes and maintains UNC Health’s procurement protocols, policies, and procedures in partnership with UNC Health’s finance and legal departments . In collaboration with Supply chain operations and strategic sourcing.

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies related to supply chain management. Identifies and mitigates risks associated with procurement, logistics, and distribution activities

  • Plans, coordinates, and administers the financial, administrative, and technical operations of purchasing, data analytics and system distribution and logistics and exercises budget responsibilities for those areas of supply chain.

  • In partnership with SC Operations and Strategic sourcing, responsible for ensuring maximum value and partnership from UNC Health Care’s trade partners including its GPO and distributors across all System entities.

  • Responsible for the management of UNC Health’s warehouse management logistics and billing system for the appropriate delivery and billing of supplies from the UNC Health’s System Shared Services Center (SSC).

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

● Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree in an appropriate discipline preferred

Professional Experience Requirements:

● Ten (10) years of relevant related experience, including seven (7) years of relevant management experience.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

● Strong working knowledge of supply chain management best practices, distribution center operations, procure to pay processes, value analysis implementation, as well as understanding of contract administration/business law concepts.

● Proven track record of successfully evaluating, developing, and implementing performance improvement plans for supply chain activities or components.

● Proven track record of successfully evaluating, developing, and implementing performance improvement plans for supply chain activities or components.

● Demonstrated ability to build a culture which values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and empowers and inspires personal and professional development among staff and leaders.

● Proven track record of successfully building high functioning supply chain teams.

● Knowledge of program management approaches and methodologies and demonstrated ability to practically apply that knowledge to drive operational, quality, and financial performance improvement.
