Kelly Services Biochemist in Durham, North Carolina

Kelly Science has immediate needs for an experienced Biochemist at one of our growing clients in the Raleigh Durham area. Candidates should apply if they have 3 years GMP Quality Control experience and QMS experience.

Location: Durham, NC

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Salary: $62,000-$72,000/year

DH role with full benefits including medical, vision, dental, matching 401k, and paid time off and holiday pay, and bonus potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct bench analysis with knowledge in cell culture, flow cytometry, cell viability determination, ELISA, pH, osmolality, and/or qPCR, adhering to cGMP, GLP, and corporate procedures.

  • Support training of departmental personnel in appropriate techniques and related topics.

  • Routinely prepare and maintain cell culture reagents, media, and supplies.

  • Participate in QC Bioassay Laboratory operations, including laboratory equipment maintenance, reagent, and inventory management.

  • Contribute to the execution of analytical method qualification and validation studies.

  • Facilitate laboratory investigations, including invalid assays, deviations, and OOS/OOT.

  • Author, review, and revise SOPs for chemistry and biochemistry methods.

  • Review logbooks and perform peer reviews of assay forms.

  • Maintain and provide routine care for equipment.

  • Identify and communicate risks to upper management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in GMP quality control or manufacturing with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or a related life science; or a minimum of 1 year of experience in GMP quality control or manufacturing with a Master of Science degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or a related life science.

  • Preferred background in cell-based bioassays, immunology, raw material testing, and/or chemistry.

  • Experience with scheduling, testing, and data review of QC assays for in-process, release, and stability samples.

  • Experience with QMS systems, including OOT/OOS/Invalid Investigations, and supporting CAPA and Change Controls.

  • Understanding of applicable USP, ICH, and Ph Eur regulations is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience troubleshooting analytical equipment and methods.

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
