The role
Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking an Asset Manager or Senior Asset Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of solar and storage assets in the ERCOT market. This role is essential for ensuring the long-term value and daily performance of these assets. Responsibilities include coordinating operational, regulatory, financial, commercial, risk management, legal, and investor-related matters within CCR's Fleet.
The ideal candidate is passionate about clean energy, has a growth mindset focused on value creation and proactive learning and possesses a background in finance or engineering. Familiarity with solar and storage is required. Prior experience in asset management, especially in solar, storage, or other energy fields, is preferred. Experience managing renewable energy assets in the ERCOT market is also preferred.
Responsibilities
Manage day to day operations and asset level performance, including oversight of service provider and operational engineering performance.
Accountable for the Profit and Loss (P&L) of the assigned assets. Manage the overall operating costs, including annual operational and capital expenditure budgeting and reporting.
Ensure operational compliance with regulatory requirements and project agreements including lender agreements, operating agreements, power purchase agreements, tax abatement agreement, operations and maintenance agreements, NERC and environmental compliance.
Key point of contact in external relationships including lenders, investors, customers (select Owners for whom we provide Asset Management services), landowners, OEMs, and service providers.
Drive value creation through asset level risk mitigation and execution on improvement and optimization opportunities.
Lead and coordinate the onboarding handoff process of placed-in-service assets between asset management, construction, operations, development, and structured finance.
Author reports on project performance for investors, lenders, and internal reporting.
Lead cash flow forecasting and management, including maintaining waterfall / investor distribution models, supporting analyses of financial structure and returns (including tax equity buyouts and refinancing's), and review/approval of ongoing financial transactions.
Create monthly settlement models and together with the commercial optimization team, provide context to variance analysis driven by market factors and optimization.
Education & Experience Required
6+ years of experience working in solar or renewables, preferably in asset management
Supervisory experience managing direct reports preferred
Experience managing assets in ERCOT preferred
Proven history of leading process improvement initiatives to streamline workflow and achieve scalable growth
Bachelors or equivalent undergraduate degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Physics or Engineering
Familiarity with energy financing structures, and renewable energy operations
Ability to read, understand and implement legal contracts
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
Experience communicating professionally with external stakeholders
Proficient at extracting and summarizing large amounts of data, and analyzing information within contracts
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work within a team
Highly proficient in Excel, familiarity with financial/accounting systems
Ability to travel domestically 10-25%
Locations: Preference for proximity to CCR office - Durham, NC or Chicago, IL
