Term contracts only, positions contingent on funding. Appointments may include day classes, night classes, online classes and/or hybrid classes. Note: Being a member of the pool does not ensure a contract will be offered; course offerings, and therefore teaching appointments, vary with demand and available funding. Duties: Teaching: Develop and teach courses Hold office hours to assist students taking these courses Demonstrate high command of their subject matter Have well organized course plans and deliver courses clearly to students Maintain a consistent and positive student teaching evaluation record Qualifications Required qualifications for these positions include a minimum of a Masters degree from an accredited university in a relevant field at time of application; one year of relevant teaching experience at a college level (TA experience acceptable); ability to develop and deliver curriculum; demonstrated experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings; evidence of outstanding oral and written communication skills. About the Department The Program in Geography offers two majors: (1) Environment, Sustainability, and Geography with tracks in Environment and Sustainability, Urban and Regional Studies, and Geography, and (2) a major in Geographic Information Science. We also offer a graduate certificate in GIS. UMD Geography is located in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota Duluth. We are seeking applicants for this pool that could teach in one of these areas of study Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $45,371-$60,495; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
