Children with Autism have a variety of developmental, learning, physical and emotional needs. As a Behavior/Mental Health Technician, you will work closely with our clinical team to achieve the following:
Run therapeutic and behavioral plans, and provide early intervention to increase social and self-management skills
Provide guidance on a range of developmental goals from communication, exercise and nutrition and academic skills to assist with school readiness
Support individuals with learning and maintaining personal skills such as: hygiene, grooming and/or toileting
Teach and model interpersonal and social skills to help individuals thrive in their communities
Provide assistance using strategies to properly manage and redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors
Qualifications of a Behavior/Mental Health Technician:
Must meet qualifications required by the EIDBI benefit; continued education in related field (minimum of an AA degree obtained or enrolled in a Bachelor's program or higher) OR at least 2 years' of full time, paid (not volunteer), clinically supervised experience supporting individuals with various disabilities (can include CNA, PCA, nursing home, direct care, and/or daycare center experience).
Must be minimum of 18 years of age
A compassionate approach with a reliable and responsible attitude
An ability to connect with children with an ability to work with others to accomplish goals
Experience in human services
Successful clearance of background checks
