Auto Body Technician – Composites Specialist

Position Overview: Seeking Auto Body Technician specializing in composite materials, including carbon fiber, fiberglass, and advanced polymer blends.  This role will be part of the research and development team assisting in new product designs!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Composite : Lay-up carbon fiber and fiberglass. 

  • Fabrication: Utilize advanced techniques to fabricate and mold composite parts as needed. Work with various composite materials to create custom solutions for unique repair situations.

  • Installation: Install and replace composite parts, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and integration.

  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of installed composite parts to ensure adherence to quality standards and manufacturer specifications.

  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines related to working with composite materials and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records.

  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers to explain the repair process, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns they may have regarding composite repairs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience with composite materials. Hands-on experience with carbon fiber and fiberglass is essential.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in composite repair techniques, including resin infusion, vacuum bagging, and structural reinforcement. Ability to use specialized tools and equipment for composite work.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certification or training in composites is a plus.

  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities to diagnose and address complex issues with composite materials.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with customers and team members, providing clear explanations and updates.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks associated with auto body repair, including lifting, standing for long periods, and working in various environments.
