You possess commercial construction industry knowledge, enjoy collaborating with a dynamic team and take a positive and proactive approach with both internal and external customers. Job Summary Partners with the Commercial team to provide responsive solutions to enhance the overall function of the department. Provides support to a construction team managing all aspects of large construction projects, including review preconstruction project plans, specifications, schedules, and documents to understand project scope and analyze risk, complete material take-offs / project estimating, detailed review of project plans to identify overall project inventory and pricing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work with preconstruction and project management teams to identify opportunities to create efficiencies, cost savings and customer value enhancements. Perform material take-offs / project estimating, including detailed review of project plans to identify overall project inventory and pricing. Follow established policies, procedures and checklists related to the proposal process to develop estimates in a timely manner. Review estimates for accuracy and compliance with historic database(s). Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and documents to understand project scope and analyze risk. Assist with maintaining estimating database(s), software, and tools. Maintain project document archives, quotes, and estimates, in an organized manner and according to department procedures. Participate in project meetings, walk-throughs, and reviews to fully understand agreements and work scope. Participate in the accurate generation, continuous updating and close-out of as built and other documents. Participate in post project reviews to solicit feedback and determine inaccuracies in estimates and proposals. Solicit vendor and subcontractor quotes and analyze for accuracy and selection. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience/Education Requirements: Two-year degree in Mechanical or CAD Drafting or related field, or at least two years' preconstruction experience. One year estimating experience preferred. Basic understanding of or ability to learn commercial mechanical systems, equipment, drawings, specif cations, and techniques. Exhibit technical aptitude and computer skills including MS Office (excel, word, power point). Familiarity with/ability to learn AutoCAD, BIM design, Revit, PlanGrid, Bluebeam/Adobe Pro, estimating software, Procore/ Primavera or other software, file sharing systems. Well-developed organizational and time management skills; ability to schedule/coordinate projects to meet expressed deadlines. Physical Demands / Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primarily a stationary position for a considerable portion of the day (sitting and/or standing). The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings. Travel to project sites, or other APi Group company locations as needed. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a plant environment.
