Job Description

The Senior Scientist will:* Be responsible for the development of technically sound, test related documentation* Work closely with the Government POC and customers to understand the customer’s testing requirements and desires* Work with the Government POC and WDTC staff to identify the testing methods and procedures that will satisfy the customer’s needs* Provide technical documentation identifying procedures, test design, and validation of new test fixtures* Be responsible for writing portions of the test plan dealing with testing procedures and quality control* Be responsible for the overall management of all specific test- related documentation and verifying that all documents are properly controlled and stored* Work with Government technical POC to ensure all test-related documents have been reviewed by the appropriate technical staff for data analysis, test data accuracy, and technical accuracy of test conclusions Duties and Responsibilities* Compose, review, edit, revise, and correct requirement descriptions, justifications, impacts if not funded, execution plans, and cost estimates* Research and document requirements, existing capabilities, analysis of alternatives, return on investment, urgency of need, etc.* Prepare related Memoranda for Record, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, E-mail correspondence, white papers, etc.* Prepare technical studies and peer reviews of technology capabilities or test requirements

Qualifications

Required Skills and Qualifications* Master’s degree in Science, interdisciplinary field, or related field with a minimum of 4-7 years' experience* Demonstrated experience in team management and interpersonal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to be innovative and adapt to changing program requirements* Strong problem-solving skills * Must be capable of planning, organizing, and executing methodology development projects* Demonstrated skill in providing high-level briefings* Demonstrated experience in physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, or engineering, with experience in design and analysis of field tests, physical laboratory tests, and/or chemical warfare/CB development* Chemical or biological laboratory experience is also desirablePhysical Demands and Working Conditions* The work of this position may be performed in an environmentally controlled office environment or in the outdoors of the test center * Must demonstrate capability to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see while performing duties * Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time * Must be able to visually distinguish colors * Must be capable of performing manual repetitive activities * Must be able to stand for extensive periods of times * Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned * Must be able to lift 25 pounds unassisted* Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilitiesTerms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements* Must be a U.S. Citizen* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent* Must possess a valid Utah driver license, without special restrictions* Must possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment* Must be able to successfully complete a background checkThe lists above are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel in this position.
