About Mount Carmel Dublin:

Mount Carmel Dublin will be an innovative medical ambulatory campus directly tailored to the needs of the Dublin community and surrounding suburbs. Services provided:

• 24 bay emergency department

• 60 acute inpatient beds

• 4 operating rooms

• Advanced imaging and other outpatient testing

We are seeking a pharmacist to join our team at Mount Carmel’s newest medical campus in Dublin, set to open in the spring of 2025. The pharmacist will rotate positions that support the operations and clinical workflows of the inpatient pharmacy, hospital-wide emergency response and serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary rounding team of the accountable care unit (ACU). PGY1 residency or 3 years of hospital practice preferred.

The position will be hired to staff Mount Carmel Dublin. While construction is underway, the majority of training will take place at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s located at 500 S Cleveland Ave, Westerville OH 43081.

Position Purpose:

The Patient Care Pharmacist , within the scope of the Ohio Pharmacist Practice Act, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective and patient-centric pharmaceutical care.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinates the preparation, distribution, and dispensing of medication as appropriate in compliance with state and federal regulations and laws, accreditation standards, and departmental policies and procedures; directs and assists pharmacy support staff.

  • Maintains personal compliance and assists in maintenance of departmental compliance with continuous regulatory readiness. Also maintains records related to the transactions of the pharmacy, to achieve adequate control and accountability for all drugs, including controlled substances.

  • Assists in the management of pharmacy inventory by providing information to pharmacy purchasing, removing expired contaminated or deteriorated stock when detected, helping maintain perpetual inventories, and processing non-formulary requests.

  • Interprets, evaluates and verifies all medication orders.

  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team in order to assure optimal and cost-effective drug therapy. This includes adjusting drug dosing and schedules, recommending the most efficacious therapy, practicing stewardship in antibiotics, performing drug consults and monitoring, and detecting possible adverse drug reactions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required

  • Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.

  • Experience: PGY1 residency or three years of institutional pharmacy experience in an advanced clinical setting is preferred

  • Effective Communication Skills

  • Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize and manage pharmaceutical care, including delegating tasks to and providing direction to other members of the pharmacy team

  • Performs work independently with minimum supervision, and is effective in a stressful environment.
