An exciting, C-Suite visible and strategically important senior role managing the Commercial Finance function for ICON’s Pharma Development (IPD) division.
The IPD group provides a range of full-service solutions, functional solutions and blended solutions to our Large Pharma clients. This Senior Director role will play a critical role in advancing ICON’s competitive advantage in the Large Pharma market with a particular focus on the creation of blended solutions tailored to meet the individual needs of each client.
The individual will also be a leading member of the Global Commercial Finance team at ICON. The role of the Commercial Finance team is the design and negotiation of bespoke commercial frameworks that maximize value for both our clients and ICON.
Job description:
Support in the advancement of ICON’s market leading position in the Large Pharma market, with a particular focusing in the construction of blended solutions for our clients
Collaborate effectively with a broad range of internal stakeholders (including C-Suite) to construct and negotiate bespoke commercial frameworks tailored to meet the individual needs of our clients
Collaborate with Finance colleagues to ensure commercial terms drive the desired financial outcomes as well as leverage P&L and Balance Sheet data to inform negotiation strategies
Support, and lead as appropriate, high profile negotiations that arise during service delivery
Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with our clients
Pro-active holistic analysis (including Business Development, Legal, Operational, Commercial considerations) for specific deals
Liaise with Legal team, and directly with clients as required, on commercial terms in client agreements and multi-year service contracts
Ensure integrity of the pricing tools so as to ensure consistent precision and accuracy at all times
Effective utilization of available financial and operational tools and data to aid better decision making
Oversee the provision of high quality, timely support to the Proposals team to ensure client proposals are commercially sound
Manage and develop team members

You will need:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc) or relevant years’ experience
A minimum of 10+ years of commercial finance experience at senior management level, preferably in a services arena
People management experience with a proven ability to influence the development and success of a team
Negotiation experience (seller side preferable)
Proven ability to resolve conflicts
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to succinctly articulate the given situation and inspire confidence
Ability to interact with and influence a variety of stakeholders across the organization including C-Suite
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage projects
Very strong focus on accuracy and quality of information provided; attention to detail
Very strong focus on delivery of quality outputs in a timely manner to clients (internal and external)
Excellent working knowledge of MS office package, in particular Excel.
