The Microsoft Feedback Platform team builds the data platform that ingests and processes millions of pieces of customer feedback from several 1P and 3P sources. The platform leverages AI to power how hundreds of engineering teams across Microsoft; including Teams, Office, Outlook, Edge and Windows organizations; listen to customer feedback at scale, act upon it and close the loop with customers.

We are looking for a transformative engineering leader for the data platform signals engineering team. Thousands of individuals at Microsoft depend upon our data platform every month to glean mission critical insights from customer feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Excellence: Strong technical leadership in designing and maintaining scalable distributed big data system architectures, microservices and AI pipelines.

  • 40%-50% Coding

  • Collaboration and Communication: Be a great partner and communicator to foster great relationships with partners across the business, customers, and other stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership Skills: Act as an active and dedicated coach, model our company values for the team, while creating an inclusive, fun, and supportive environment where every employee can be and do their best.

  • Strategic Leadership and Judgement: Work with the leadership team to define the success metrics and drive strategy initiatives and provide thought leadership.

  • Planning and Execution: Dig into technical details while managing the bigger picture of product delivery. Drive an engineering rhythm so that the team operates at a high level, knowledge is shared appropriately, and smooth execution is facilitated.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • People management experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in AI and machine learning including LLM, NLP and building AI-driven systems.

  • Experience in designing scalable distributed system architectures, microservices, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
