Job Description

Join our AbbVie North Dublin team as a NPI Project Manager and contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations and new product development initiatives.

This role is a 12 Month FTC and will provide technical support and program management to all manufacturing operations and NPI’s throughout the site.

In this role you will be a key contact within AbbVie for all pipeline products, collaborating with GPRD, GPRA, PPD to develop and execute strategies for commercial supply of new products.

The NPI Project manager will lead cross-functional teams both within AbbVie and GPRD/GPO including manufacturing, engineering, manufacturing science and technology, quality assurance, purchasing, and supply chain to execute the strategies for the development and supply of new products. This position may also serve as an AbbVie representative on Global Project Teams, Global Brand Teams, CR and PSR reviews.

You will also provide Technical support to all manufacturing operations to reduce standard product costs by the successful identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake site projects in the Technical Operations Department.

  • Adheres to and supports all EHS standards, procedures and policies.

  • Evaluate activities, timelines and resources necessary for development of new products.

  • Make recommendations and obtain approval from site and GPRD Program Management and other clients for plans for Development, CTS & Commercial supplies of new products.

  • Assist cross-functional teams in the execution of strategies for supply of development and clinical supply of new products.

  • Develop user requirement specifications, technical specifications and design specifications for projects.

  • Develop the project plan for the implementation, including the objectives of the project, costs of project, and the technology, facility, equipment, and human resource requirements of the project.

  • Supports supplier selection, technology transfers, capital expansions, regulatory filings, and building of launch supplies.

  • Report to leadership and key stakeholders the overall status of each project using dash boards and traffic light reports.

  • Establish the expectation and standards, and the supportive environment, to ensure that project teams and support personnel have the capability to meet performance expectations. This includes building capability by providing ongoing coaching and mentoring and providing timely recognition as well as performance feedback and counseling.

  • Maintain accountability for all project team performance metrics that support the annual operating plan and production objectives, including delivery inline with project charter with specific milestones.

  • Observe all safety and compliance procedures and actively highlight any safety concerns to help drive the reduction of accidents or near misses.

  • All of the feasibility studies and costings for current and future projects and all process development work, reports and information are confidential information.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Technical and/or Quality discipline is required

  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in manufacturing, supply chain management, engineering, and/or drug development.

  • Extensive Experience in planning and executing projects as a Project Manager.

  • Experience in leading international cross-functional teams.

  • Experience in influencing peers in other organizations and senior management.
