The Financial Business Planning group is the departmental financial analysis function of ICON. The department role is to provide independent, objective financial and consulting services designed to add value, direction and leadership to assist the business in attaining success.

The Financial Business Planning group plays an integral part in enabling ICON to accomplish its objectives by bringing a global, systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating finances and strategy.

ICON is recruiting for a Financial Analyst within our Business Partnering department, on a Permanent hybrid-working basis, to join a thriving & growing team based in our HQ office in Leopardstown, Dublin.

The role is an excellent opportunity for a newly Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA Accountant / Analyst, as well as a first time mover out of Practice (Big 4 or Top 10), looking to go into industry and gain a wide range of commercial exposure & responsibilities and structured career progression.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organization and gain responsibilities in a range of Financial and Business Partnering driven activities, become commercially focused and be a key player within the Finance activities or the global organization.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Financial ownership and management of 15 - 20 individual studies, for both internal and client reporting.

  • Partnering with Operations teams to review the financial health of studies.

  • Conducting financial reviews to proactively identify, facilitate and drive actions across stakeholder groups.

  • Preparation of internal monthly study report, documenting key financial risks and mitigating actions.

  • Preparation of client reports (financial analysis, forecasting, metrics and dashboards) to support the client in their financial planning and month end process.

  • Preparation of internal monthly financial reporting packages and financial forecast for operations with insightful commentary and analysis.

  • Preparation of monthly financial forecasts and budget reconciliations.

To be considered for the Financial Analyst role:

  • Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA with good experience in analysis and insights of financial data and trends.

  • Good Systems experience.

  • Audit & Assurance experience is beneficial.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work on own initiative.

  • Experience assisting Finance Manager with various relevant information requirements.
