Google Company Accountant (French, Portuguese) in Dublin, Ireland

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function.

  • Certification in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or DCG.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in accounting or public multinational high-tech companies with process and strategic improvements.

  • Understanding of accounting principles, including the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, French GAAP, or Portuguese GAAP.

  • Ability to handle a varied and diverse workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, high degree of attention to detail and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

  • Excellent team player with the ability to drive results, shows leadership, and possesses strong negotiating skills.

  • Excellent people management and communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate in French or Portuguese fluently to work with stakeholders in this region.

The Google International Controllership team's mission is to keep Google safe, legal and operating in each jurisdiction in which the company operates. As a member of this diverse and dynamic team you know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You will be responsible for the statutory financial and tax filings required by law, and you will also manage and enhance the financial control environment and all this sounds like fun to you.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

  • Take responsibility for overseeing the annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance process, including management of the external audit and tax filings for a portfolio of Alphabet companies in EMEA.

  • Perform regular in­-depth analysis on the financials, ensuring the integrity and financial accuracy of our books and records. Prepare, analyze and post journals at month end.

  • Review reconciliations of key balance sheet account balances including relevant reporting for the same.

  • Manage the delivery of accounting processes performed by external vendors ensuring that all service levels are met, the internal control environment is robust and a quality service is provided.

  • Represent International Controllership with our key business partners through effective communication across a broad network of stakeholders.
