The Datacenter Physical Security team (DCPS) is organized within CO+I. DCPS is dedicated to delivering the most trustworthy and efficient physical security services to protect the personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information foundational to the Microsoft Cloud. DCPS is looking for a Security Site Evaluation Manager to conduct the security evaluation and assessment of Microsoft's critical infrastructure portfolio across the EMEA region. This position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information about existing, or potential threats to Microsoft’s infrastructure, business, people, and assets. The individual will be working directly with numerous internal and external key stakeholders, and customers to provide guidance, inform, escalate, and develop risks mitigation strategies to manage identified risks

The Security Site Evaluation Manager will report to the Sr. Director of Datacenter Physical Security EMEA and must be an experienced team player, possess strong communication and collaboration skills, have the ability to manage a demanding workload of multiple concurrent projects across geographic and organizational boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and quantify (using established processes and procedures) physical security issues at proposed critical infrastructure sites. Participate in the collaborative process of selecting the most appropriate existing datacenter facility or brownfield/greenfield site upon which to build or lease as required.

  • Conduct and support physical security threat/risk assessments (using established processes and methodologies) at new and existing sites to ensure evolving threats and conditions remain appropriately addressed by the physical security program as deployed/operated.

  • Financial management: contribute to the financial management for the business (OPEX, Headcount, COGS) including budgeting, business reviews, cross-organizational business reporting, and dashboard implementation.

  • Represent Physical Security in contract negotiations including third-party agreements, and audits related to physical security as well as contract compliance.

  • Drive leadership-oriented insights and reviews clearly communicating results, highlighting risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations impacting performance and results in a timely manner.

  • Receive escalations/notifications of physical security and business impacting incidents/events and appropriately triage and assess, ensuring that leadership is made initially and continuously aware when appropriate, and that the appropriate personnel are managing the incident response effectively.

  • Collaborate with peer teams and organizations to ensure their team is aligned with broader strategy and initiatives, fully supporting leadership priorities, being good partners, helping reduce costs, time burden, and complexity, and being responsive trusted advisors.

  • Continuously seek data and recommend strategies and ideas to reduce churn, optimize, implement a creative solution to a problem, scale, automate, and simplify.

  • Deliver assigned projects in accordance with established requirements, deadlines, and applicable employment law and company policy.

  • Engage with internal and external customers as appropriate to evangelize and represent Microsoft’s datacenter physical security programs.

  • Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and protect Microsoft information without question.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in successfully managing security programs in a corporate, law enforcement or government operations program role.

  • BS or BA in security or related discipline, or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Experience providing risk/threat assessments at the strategic and tactical level, demonstrating critical thinking and exceptional judgement in information analysis and problem solving.

  • Experience operating and making decisions to remain compliant with legal, regulatory, and cultural norms in EMEA as it relates to Physical Security.

  • Willingness to travel frequently in both planned and unplanned scenarios.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products for business.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a security advisor in corporate, public, or private security.

  • Confident and skilled in preparing and delivering presentations and briefings to customers, senior leaders, and executives.

  • Experience making and influencing good decisions that impact mission-critical, 24x7 operations environments.

  • Strong work and compliance ethic, and the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.

  • Thought leadership and subject matter expertise to deliver one or more large programs and services while increasing standardization, simplification, and automation.

  • Ability to change plans, goals, actions, and priorities in response to an evolving business environment with awareness to operate as a champion for course corrections when necessary.

  • Ability to develop, and maintain security related processes, procedures, program baselines, training, and improvement plans.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance while being a team player able to effectively manage a demanding workload across geographic and organizational boundaries.

  • Experience with third-party contracts and statements of work related to physical security.

  • Industry security certification such as CPP highly desirable.

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements isrequired for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
