About the Role:

The role holder is responsible for conducting timely and accurate detailed analysis and provide recommendations related to Finance Policies and Procedures, IFRS/Local reporting requirements, Financial Statements (consolidated/standalone) matters to support the Finance Division to achieve its business objectives.

The overall responsibilities of this role:

Financial Reporting and Audit:

  • Prepare DCM’s statutory consolidated/standalone Financial Statements in accordance with IFRS and/or, local regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with auditors in planning for Operating Activities' (OA) and Managing Control's (MC) audit reports and assist them in completing audits as per the schedule by liaising with other departments and providing them the requisite information. Support the implementation of action plans for audit findings to ensure that all the audit findings are worked on and successfully dealt with facilitating subsequent audits if required.

  • Assist in the preparation of the annual and quarterly financial statements of DCM and ensure that the financial statements are prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Co-ordinate with Dubai Holding, subsidiaries, external/internal auditors, other departments/business units and managing the entire audit process efficiently and effectively. This includes cascading agreed timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines, reviewing the accuracy of financial line items, and completeness of disclosures of the financial reporting packages for the yearly/half-yearly audits. Proactively managing involved teams (both internal/external).

  • Prepare various financial/non-financial statistical reports for the Management to facilitate timely reconciliation of various designated accounts and keep them informed of the status

  • Coordinate with other departments within DCM for month-end/quarterly/yearly management accounts closing as per the specified time scales and the company’s policies and procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy.

Internal controls & Policies and Procedures

  • Conduct timely and accurate analysis and provide recommendations related to Finance Policies and Procedures.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to the various accounting teams in the implementation of the accounting policies, procedures, internal controls, and monitoring activities.

  • Coordinate with auditors in planning for OA’s and MC’s audit reports and assist them in completing audits as per the schedule by liaising with other departments and providing them the requisite information. Support the implementation of action plans for audit findings to ensure that all the audit findings are worked on and successfully dealt with facilitating subsequent audits if required.

  • Assist in preparing and analyzing reports/schedules/reconciliation including validation of the integrity for financial database, and accuracy of processed transactions in order to support management/statutory reporting.

  • Initiate and lead the development and implementations of DCM accounting policies, procedures and processes for the respective function/department and review current policies to ensure its maintained and kept up to date as part of the continuous improvement process.

Special Assignments and other tasks:

  • Develops strong relationships both within and outside the finance department, and maintain an open flow of communication, enabling deep knowledge of current events in the business.

  • Manage queries raised by external auditors and banks to ensure smooth operations are maintained and maximum satisfaction is achieved.

  • Ensure data updates into the assigned system to facilitate efficient processing of transactions. Maintaining records for all transactions for audit trail.

  • Provide support in implementing tools and mechanisms to deliver various company analyses.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support in introducing and implementing best practices to the finance processes by researching best practices.

  • Keep abreast of professional developments, new techniques, and current issues, through continued education and professional growth.

  • Recommend and improve the ERP-related system issues. Support the tasks from the Finance Department for the enhancement of ERP financial modules in order to support the planned growth of DCM and improving the efficiency through the automation/enhancement/news solutions of the key ERP financial module activities.

About you:

The ideal candidate will have the below qualifications and experience:

  • Degree/bachelor’s in accounting/finance. Professional Certification such as ACA, ACCA

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar field and industry

  • Experience in Owner Associations financial management

  • Knowledge of Oracle System with real estate industry knowledge

  • Strong analytical and technical skills.

  • Attention to detail and able to work in a non-structured environment.

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
