Dubai Holding DPG_Hospitality Project Delivery.Manager - MEP in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Job Purpose:
The job holder will oversee and manage the MEP engineering design, delivery, and handover of Hospitality projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction phase:
Manage the Engineering MEP submissions (shop drawings and material submittals) during the construction phase and ensure completion as per schedule.
Undertake site visits to monitor and control the quality of MEP installation work at site to deliver world class standards and quality.
Monitor and direct consultant to close out of all Request for Information (RFI’s) raised by contractors during construction phase to facilitate clear communication and timely resolution of all contractor inquiries.
Monitor and control systems Testing & Commissiong of all MEP systems related components through efficient testing and commissioning procedures to verify the proper functioning and performance of all MEP systems.
Monitor and manage as necessary the MEP systems handing over to Authorities to ensure a seamless and compliant handover of MEP systems to the Authorities.
Track MEP related issues, root causes, and corrective actions recommended / taken to ensure closure in a timely manner; and ensure the Department Head and other executive management, as appropriate, are informed of significant issues that may jeopardize the achievement of the project’s time/budget.
Design phase:
Participate in the appointment of the MEP consultant and Issue the Engineering scope of services based on project brief; ensuring a clear and aligned project vision through a well-defined scope of services document.
Monitor and direct the consultant to develop innovative, sustainable, and optimized MEP system designs from concept to tender stage ensuring delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly MEP system designs that meet project requirements.
Review the MEP consultant MEP deliverables in all design stages and organize regular design workshops for comments close out within schedule.
Propose appropriate due diligence Value Engineering options for MEP systems to meet the project budget.
Ensure that the Issue for Construction (IFC) drawings have been coordinated and in compliance with Authorities regulations.
Involve in the tender evaluation process by working closely with consultants to answer tender queries and make suitable modifications during the tendering phase.
Monitor the consultants and contractor’s performance on site and ensure compliance with project requirements, quality, time and cost.
Keep abreast of industry trends, methodologies, tools and best practices in MEP design.
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; master’s degree preferred
Knowledge in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Experience:
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience
Job Specific Skills:
Proficiency in mechanical design software and tools, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and designing mechanical systems and components.
Expert in materials and their properties, including the ability to select appropriate materials for specific mechanical applications.
Proficiency in thermodynamics principles and heat transfer mechanisms, especially for applications in mechanical systems.
Team Leadership-Ability to lead and manage mechanical design teams, set project goals, and motivate team members.
Proficiency in project management methodologies, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly to team members, stakeholders, and clients.
