About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Bar Manager to join our team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab . The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

  • Supervise and support bar staff, fostering a collaborative team environment through comprehensive training and development programs.

  • Ensure compliance with liquor licensing regulations, proactively engaging with suppliers to meet procurement requirements.

  • Uphold high standards of guest satisfaction by delivering top-tier beverage service and promptly addressing guest inquiries, comments, and suggestions with professionalism and creativity.

  • Monitor guest feedback and implement necessary improvements to elevate overall guest experience.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, consistently optimizing stock levels through timely ordering of supplies and beverages.

  • Implement stringent inventory control measures to minimize waste and loss, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

  • Assist in developing and executing strategic cost-control initiatives to maximize profitability while maintaining exceptional service standards.

  • Monitor financial metrics closely, preparing detailed reports for management at regular intervals.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales and revenue through innovative promotions and targeted marketing strategies.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a similar role in a luxury hotel or a standalone restaurant, demonstrating a strong understanding of luxury hospitality standards.

  • Proficiency in English is required, ideally complemented by proficiency with a second language (Spanish, French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, German or Greek).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Extensive wine and beverage/mixology knowledge and the strategic ability to sell by using upselling techniques.

  • WSET level 2 or relevant degrees.
