Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Manager of Communications, Network Administrator II is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of a multi-site, multi-data center network environment. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge in enterprise LAN/WAN networks and strive to maintain a thorough understanding of industry best practices and concepts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain Data Center infrastructure including, but not limited to rack space, power units, cooling units, fire suppression, access control, and structured cabling.

  • Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and servers.

  • Configure and maintain multiple load balanced connections.

  • Ensure enterprise stability by monitoring network performance and integrity.

  • Troubleshoot and coordinate vendor efforts to remediate network and voice performance issues and outages, schedule upgrades and collaborate with vendors on system optimization.

  • Work with business partners to help design, implement, and maintain access control systems.

  • Design and document HA / DR procedures.

  • Work closely with other IT staff and external vendors to develop new features and influence the future of networking in the organization.

  • Maintain a working relationship with Level-1 and Level-2 Technical Support staff to ensure service issues are resolved in a timely manner.

  • Working as a team with intermediate cabling and hardware infrastructure design and implementation to support network upgrades and expansion. Hands-on implementation requires ability to perform network structured cabling for existing or new build outs.

  • Assist Communications Administrator as required, basic understanding of Cisco communication technologies including Communications Manager, Unity Connection, Contact Center Express, and Jabber.

  • Assist Physical Security Administrator with physical security infrastructure technologies, door and gate controls, intercoms, cameras, and related technologies.
