This position will provide hands on experience with our Learning & Development (L&D) department. L&D Trainers will assist with employee onboarding, teaching classes to our front-line employees and park leaders, as well as various other special training projects. L&D Trainers will also gain valuable guest service experience interacting, assisting, and teaching our employees and park leaders.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and facilitate employee onboarding which includes filling out hire-on forms, completing online Orientation, uniform pick up, and a backstage tour

  • Instruct and lead classes in both classroom and virtual settings for employees and front-line park leaders

  • Organize, facilitate, and assist with trainings taught by other instructors or representatives

  • Facilitate and lead Associate discussions, focus groups, and solo/group activities

  • Provide class/course feedback to help refine and enhance park offerings

  • Set up individuals for required online courses and provide any assistance needed with regards to questions / technical difficulties

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations/guidelines

  • Assist with employee scheduling for training classes and department classes post-onboarding

  • Assist with record keeping, auditing, payroll, and reporting for employee compliance with completing required classes/courses

  • Help manage inventory stock levels, supplies, and their proper storage for the department

  • Complete special projects as assigned by park leadership

  • Motivate and instill in Associates positive service focused expectations and understanding

  • Be a positive culture champion for the park and the Staff Services Division

  • Assist in other areas of the Staff Services Division as needed as well as in the park if the business requires

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Prior training, instructor, public speaking, and/or prior theme park experience a plus

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as required to meet the needs of the business

  • Must have strong presentation/public speaking skills as well as confidence with speaking in front of large groups for long periods of time

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must be detail orientated and have strong organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (to include Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) and have the ability to quickly learn computer based applications

  • Ability to provide exceptional service when interacting with employees, coworkers, guests, and others

  • Ability and confidence to coach, mentor, and influence Associates, coworkers, and others

  • Ability to work independently of constant supervision

  • Ability to work in fast-paced and rapidly changing office/theme park environment

  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
