Overview

The Salvation Army’s Boston Kroc Center is hiring a Culinary Arts Assistance and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

    Pay Range : $19.00 per Hr.

    Assist Culinary Arts Program Manager with providing instruction in the classroom and assist with all administrative duties as it relates to the program.

  • Two (2) years’ experience in food service or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with verifiable experience as a cook, roundsman, sous Chef or Chef

  • Associate degree in culinary arts/food service management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in a classroom, lab or on-line settings.

  • Create, prepare, and deliver lesson plans to address various learning styles.

  • Track students learning progress and maintain records.

  • Be highly flexible with all program needs.

  • Hold students accountable for their training while exhibiting a caring attitude for their success.

    Requirements include:

  • Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or occasional continuous basis.

  • Grasp, push, pull objects such as reference materials, files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.

  • Ability to load and to change settings, devices, fixtures, on various equipment used in and around an office environment.

  • Operate telephone and other electronic communication devices.

  • Operate various other office equipment including personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and scanning equipment.

  • Ability to lift-up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

  • Ability to travel throughout the Division via car, train, or airplane.

  • Ability to be creative, original, intuitive, and perceptive.

  • Ability to think logically and critically.

  • Ability to envision a project from beginning to end.

  • Ability to solve complex problems, make appropriate judgments and decisions.

Qualifications
