Transdev Charter Coordinator in Dorchester, Massachusetts

Hiring Immediately - Charter Coordinator

Transdev Services, Inc. is seeking a Charter Coordinator for its Boston Public Schools transportation contract. The Charter Coordinator supports Operations by taking bus trip requests through the Boston Public School districts electronic system, the telephone and email. The Charter Coordinator also determines map routes, assigns Driver coverage, and provides trip details to Drivers.

Responsibilities:

  • Takes bus trip requests through the school district’s electronic system, Zum, email, and over the telephone.

  • Enters bus trips into Transdev’s VDS system.

  • Enters information via Zum Portal.

  • Determines map routes, assigning Driver coverage, and providing bus trip details to Drivers.

  • Provides bus trip information to Dispatchers.

  • Assigns Dispatcher coverage for weekend charters and special events.

  • Provides backup coverage for Dispatchers.

  • Assigns after school bus transportation services as needed.

  • Generates bus trip reports as needed.

  • Completes payroll tasks related to Charter and field trips.

  • Performs various administrative tasks including writing letters, generating reports, drafting pay-memos, copying, filing, faxing, etc.

  • Encourages compliance with Company policies and procedures and the Driver’s Collective Bargaining Agreement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Licensing, and Certifications Required:

  • A high school diploma or GED.

Experience Required:

  • Three (3) years of experience in office coordination or transportation field operations.

  • Dispatching experience preferred.

Experience Preferred:

  • Dispatching experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Proficient use of computers.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and telephone etiquette skills; ability to respond and present professionally to callers and customers.

  • Highly organized and ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work with a team as well as individually.

  • Ability to work a non-traditional work schedule which may include early mornings, nights and weekends.

  • Must submit to drug testing and a background checks.
