Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal

The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

This is an exciting hybrid role combining the duties of a Process Operator Team Lead and an Equipment Engineer ensuring the safe delivery of medical device products to our customers.

This role is Evening shift working 4pm-12am Monday - Friday.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Problemsolving of plantandmanufacturingequipmenttoachieveproductqualityandproductionschedulegoals.

• Lead a team of Operators to success maintaining a positive culture.

• Ensuring that productivity,qualityandcostobjectivesareachieved,.

• Knowledge of PLCs,Pneumatics,sensorcircuits,andServoMotors is advantageous.

• Performing Planned and UnplannedMaintenance on Manufacturing Equipment.

• Ensuringconformancewith all relevant Policiesand Procedures.Contributingtothecreation of WorkInstructions and OperationsProceduresto maintain compliance.

• Completion of PerformanceExcellenceAssessmentsand DevelopmentPlanstopromote

• ContinuousImprovement.ContributingtoExceptionReports that pertaintotheOperationsdepartment.

• Ensuring the departmentconductsitsbusiness in a mannerdesigned to beprotective of humanhealth,safety,and the environment.

• Validation of newprocessesanddevelopment of technicaldocumentationfor areas of responsibility.Participation in andmanagementofcapitalprojectsfrominceptiontocompletion.

EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:

• Third levelqualification in Engineering/Manufacturing/Science or tradecertificate in an Engineering discipline.

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar environment preferred.Supervisoryexperiencepreferred.
