Job Overview:

Ensure that dimensional surveys are carried out on the fabricated structure including all fabrication - marine interfaces. Study applicable contracts documents/standard codes and specific Dimension Control (DC) Procedure for the project. Understand the project requirements. Liaise with the Client Representative and fabrication foreman on any schedule survey of structure. Co-ordinate with the Principal Dimensional Control Tech and Fabrication Foreman on Discussing any non-conformance survey results.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Sr. Dimensional Control Tech for setting out primary control and establishment of a suitable control network

  • Perform the following surveys:

  • Post-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan an as required by the governing specifications

  • Post-weld surveys as specified in the dimension control plan

  • Survey of miscellaneous assemblies as required

  • Continuous level surveys during load out and weighing

  • Prepare Dimensional Control Reports

  • In case of non-conformance, generate an out of tolerance (OOT) report and resurvey the structure after remedial action has taken place

  • Monitor and update equipment calibration register

  • Prepare Calibration Certificate

  • Ensure that latest drawings and calibrated equipment is used

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 2 years Diploma in Technical Engineering or Civil Engineering

  • 3+ years experience in surveying

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Good knowledge in Surveying Instruments

  • Computer literate: AutoCAD and MS office packages
