Hilton Assistant Food and Beverage Director in Doha, Qatar

An Assistant Food and Beverage Director supervises the managers of the specific food and beverage service areas to ensure the highest quality standards are met. Additionally, you will oversee the food and beverage budget and administer the food and beverage marketing program.

What will I be doing?

As an Assistant Food and Beverage Director, you will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising and scheduling food and beverage staff/management in accordance with business needs, productivity, service standards and policies/ procedures. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of all F&B outlets, including restaurants, bars, catering services, and room service. Ensure that all services meet quality standards and customer expectations. Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Staff Supervision and Training: Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training new employees. Develop staff schedules and manage labor costs effectively. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Financial Management: Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the F&B department. Monitor revenue and expenses to ensure profitability. Implement cost-control measures without compromising quality.
  • Inventory and Supply Management: Oversee ordering and inventory of food, beverages, and supplies. Establish relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts. Ensure proper storage and handling of all products.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by ensuring excellent service. Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly. Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve services.
  • Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with chefs and the F&B Director to design menus that meet market trends and customer preferences. Price menu items appropriately to balance cost and profitability. Introduce new food and beverage offerings periodically.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Maintain all necessary licenses and certifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits of F&B areas.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing special events, banquets, and conferences. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless event delivery. Manage event-specific budgets and logistics.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Participate in developing marketing strategies to promote F&B services. Collaborate on promotional activities, discounts, and special offers. Analyze market trends to identify new business opportunities.
  • Reporting and Administration: Prepare regular reports on sales, inventory, staff performance, and other key metrics. Update and maintain operational policies and procedures. Assist in strategic planning and decision-making processes.

  • High School graduate or equivalent required
  • Four year college degree preferred
  • At least 5 years experience managing food and beverage operations preferred
