Job Summary
The Carpenter Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising a team of carpenters in the completion of service calls and construction projects. The foreman ensures that all tasks are completed on schedule and within budget, while adhering to safety and quality standards. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to motivate and lead a team of workers. Key responsibilities include overseeing the work of assigned personnel, ordering materials and supplies, and scheduling work assignments. The foreman must also be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and using a variety of tools and equipment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters.
Ensure that assigned service calls and projects are completed in a timely and safe manner.
Plan and assign tasks to carpenters.
Schedule and coordinate carpentry activities with other trades and project personnel.
Inspect and evaluate completed carpentry projects.
Train and mentor carpenters in proper and safe job performance.
Assist in hiring and evaluating personnel.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and requirements.
Maintain and order carpentry supplies and materials.
Basic Qualifications
Must have demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Required experience in leading and supervising carpenters and other construction personnel effectively.
Must possess a comprehensive understanding of building and construction codes, as well as safety regulations, to ensure compliance and safe work practices.
Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and adeptness at solving problems to ensure efficient project execution and team collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
The ability to identify issues, analyze potential solutions, and implement effective resolutions.
The ability to guide, motivate, and manage a team to achieve common goals.
The ability to plan and control how much time to spend on specific activities.
The skill to understand and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
Familiarity with the tools, equipment, and materials used in carpentry.
