Business Development Manager (Beverage Manufacturing) (Remote or Hybrid))

The Business Development Manager (BDM) plays a critical customer-facing role on the Beverage Manufacturing Sales Team, supporting the Sr. Key Account (KAM) and/or Sr. National Account Manager (NAM), with the management and growth of our strategic partnerships and new customer accounts. The BDM is instrumental in aligning cross-functional teams throughout the Niagara network to develop strategies and models of how Niagara can best meet customer needs. Internal partnership areas include, but are not limited to: Product Development, R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Product Engineering, Finance, Quality, Beverage Development and Legal (Contracts), etc.

Essential Functions

  • Achieve sales performance goals specific to combined account base of KAM/NAM as established against annual sales metrics.

  • Collaborate with KAM/NAM to develop strategies for new business opportunities, margin enhancement, and customer value proposition improvement initiatives. Lead the internal development process of such projects.

  • Examples:

  • Pursuit of new business for existing brands/beverage products serviced by Niagara

  • Pursuit of new business for brands/beverage products not currently serviced by Niagara

  • Addition of innovation SKUs as extensions of existing brands/beverages serviced by Niagara

  • Packaging Initiatives

  • Lightweighting

  • rPET/Recycled Material

  • Alternative Secondary, Tertiary Packaging

  • Understand and interpret customer needs and expectations and communicate them effectively to internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure deliverables meet customer requirements.

  • Examples:

  • Distribution of essential information of business opportunity to respective internal SMEs for consultation and recommendation

  • Understand inputs required by cross-functional partners to drive efficiency in managing deliverables

  • Identify gaps and work with appropriate parties to resolve such matters

  • Consolidate and organize internal SME inputs to facilitate leadership team decision-making

  • Execute and oversee essential administrative functions, including the preparation and submission of documents crucial to business operations

  • Partner with the Program Management team on new launches

  • Facilitate cross-functional team coordination

  • Maintain a comprehensive list of active projects, prioritize projects to meet deadlines, monitor their progress, prepare status summaries, and update the CRM tool as primary data source.

  • Collaborate closely with the customer and KAM/NAM to gather essential information for evaluation, while navigating the complexities of the sales process and its associated sensitivities.

  • Partner with the KAM/NAM and internal and external SMEs to drive contract construction and customer negotiations.

  • Support the preparation of business plans, executive summaries and ad hoc business reports.

  • Work independently, with limited day-to-day guidance.

  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

  • 6 Years – Experience in Position

  • 4 Years – Experience managing people/projects

$113,528.00 - $164,616.00 / Yearly
