Catholic Health Initiatives Med Technologist in Devils Lake, North Dakota

Overview

Work in the heart of #humankindess at CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake.

Working as a Med Tech at our Critical Access Hospital, you'll perform a wide range of technical procedures analyzing blood and various body fluids in order to expedite the physician’s diagnosis and treatment of patients. You'll assist with quality audits in accordance with accrediting agencies.

Technical duties will include routine patient testing and preparation of blood components for transfusion.

About Us:

CHI St. Alexius Health Devils Lake Hospital is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital accredited by The Joint Commission licensed by the North Dakota State Department of Health and certified by the Department of Health and Human Services for participation in the Medicare Program. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Lake Region area and surrounding communities since 1902.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components

  • Collect biological specimens from patients

  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain equipment used in quantitative or qualitative analysis

  • Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science from an approved school.

  • Valid certification by one of the following: ASCP, NCA, AMT or opportunity to acquire a professional certification w/in 1 yr of employment and also holding a provisional state license and meets position description requirements.

  • Current certification as one of the following: Med Tech (Medical Tech), Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS), Medical Lab Scientist (MLS), Medical Lab Technologist (MLT).

  • Requires current licensure from the State of North Dakota or a Provisional ND License waiting for full licensure upon completion of a professional certification board exam w/in one (1) year of hire date.

  • Must have no limitations for lifting, walking or bending.

  • Visual acuity and communication skills necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.

Pay Range

$22.95 - $33.28 /hour
