Join our Team! USpireND has an exciting opportunity within the Healthy Families Program as a Family Support Specialist. This position offers room for considerable growth within the organization. As a Family Support Specialist your role is responsible for building trusting relationships with families based on the Healthy Families America model. The FSS will visit families virtually, in their homes or other established location to provide support in establishing positive home environments, promoting strong attachments through parent child relationships, and encouraging the well-being of children and families. Utilizing a strengths-based approach the FSS will practice reflective strategies to strengthen parent-child relationships, improve parenting skills, teach effective problem solving and reduce family stress. The Salary for this position is $18-$20 an hour DOE (depending on experience) Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree and three (3) years of related experience; or bachelors degree in a related field: human services, psychology, sociology, social work, etc. in lieu of experience and two (2) years of related experience
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, ability to maintain reliable transportation, and proof of insurance for the vehicle
  • Successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening

UNDERFILL OPTION: If unable to find qualified applicants, we will consider under-filling with a salary of $17.00 per hour. Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or GED, and 2+ years of related experience, i.e., Child Development, Social Service, or related field.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of community resources

Knowledge of infant and child development along with parent-child attachment principles
